Application | Pre-doctoral Fellowships in Hellenic Studies

Applicants must fill out the application completely before clicking on the “Submit” button at the end of the form. The system will not save incomplete applications. Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required; if they are not completed, the application cannot be submitted. Fill out the application form in English. For questions that require lengthier responses, applicants may draft their responses in a separate tool (e.g., a word processor), and then paste the text into the application form.

As part of the application process, applicants must upload six documents in PDF format:

A detailed but brief research proposal in English, also indicating how their proposed project is connected to their PhD research (no more than 1,000 words). The proposal should demonstrate how the project complements or expands upon their doctoral studies, exploring related questions, methodologies or themes rather than reiterating their dissertation work. Bibliographies and references do not count toward the word limit.
A curriculum vitae in English.
A sample of their work in English or Greek of no more than 10,000 words (including bibliography and references). The sample can be a published work or an essay from their postgraduate or doctoral studies.
A copy of their undergraduate studies transcript, in Greek if not available in English.
A copy of their postgraduate studies transcript, in Greek if not available in English.
A letter, in Greek if not available in English, from their Department which will certify the start date of their enrollment as PhD Candidates of the Department.

The deadline for submissions is Sunday, January 31, 2027, at 11:59 pm (Eastern European Time). Following their applications, some applicants may be invited to online interviews.
